Front Porch Yoga is a welcoming community where I inspire others to choose love while sharing my yoga adventures. I invite you to settle into a virtual Adirondack chair and watch the world float by. Be a gentle observer by taking a look around and suspending judgement of others- and yourself. Nothing is ever the same on this porch- the temperature goes up and down, the light brightens and softens, the people come and go; it is a very dynamic place to be….just like being present to the changes happening in your body while practicing on your mat. After all, our bodies are different every day. I do hope you will join in some of our conversations, but I also understand if you’d just like to sit quietly in silent reflection. There’s no pressure to get things done or finish projects when sitting here. It’s a truly unique place to pause.
If you’ve never practiced before or if you’re a seasoned yogi, I would love to share my passion for yoga with you! Please contact me for more information about group and private sessions.

About Grace

Despite my active childhood in snowy Maine, I suffered from frequent back pain and was eventually diagnosed with scoliosis. My cousin invited me to a yoga class in 2004. Reluctantly, I attended the class and surprisingly fell in love with those sacred 60 minutes of worry-free bliss, followed by lightness, abundant energy, and even weight loss. I began practicing regularly and was thrilled to find relief from my back pain as the muscles supporting my spine gained strength and flexibility. Following my bliss, I finally embraced my passion and trained to become a Registered Yoga Teacher in February 2009.
I maintain a simple, abundant lifestyle by nurturing my body with healthy food, caring for the environment, writing a gratitude journal, creating journey collages, supporting local businesses and spending lots of time upside down, fostering a creative outlook. I remain young at heart, dreaming up a joyful community where adults are encouraged to safely play on their mats with awareness and self love: Front Porch Yoga!
Teaching Philosophy
I am a healer, and my healing modality is yoga.
I love the way that deeply connecting with the breath quiets the mind, bringing you out of your head and into your heart. I love the magical dance that happens when linking breath with flowing physical movement.
I connect with my students through my values of creativity, curiosity, and compassion.
I give students the freedom to express themselves in their own bodies, allowing creativity on the mat. I support students as they reach for their edge and encourage them to use their imagination when practicing and embrace the process of discovery and exploration.
I believe in the importance of asking questions and trusting the inner seeker. I learn something new and exciting everyday, and with that fresh perspective, I bring light and love into my teaching.
I am a natural cheerleader and coach. I welcome new yogi’s with compassionate, open arms. I break the postures down into simple verbal cues that are easy to follow and stress the importance of safety by encouraging compassion for self and others.
I feel so blessed to share this enlightening tradition and inspire others to bring holistic balance into their lives, bridging mind, body and spirit.
Namaste.
